On May 15, 2003, fifty-four (54) brothers attended
the raising of Brothers Bill Roberts, Burnie Wilbur, and Jason Williams at
Walden Lodge. The brothers who attended appeared to have a good time
and comments were made by many of those in attendance that it was an
excellent degree. I want to thank the Hejaz Past Masters Unit for
putting on the second part of the degree and want to thank and
congratulate the officers of Walden Lodge who participated in the first
part of the degree. They were all diligent in their paractice and
proficient in their work.
Our next regular scheduled business
meeting is June 5, 2003 at Walden Lodge. We are scheduled to
officially receive Right Worshipful District Deputy Grand Master Tom
McConnell but Tom recently suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized
and I do not believe Tom will be with us on that night. Please pray
for Tom and seek his speedy and full recovery.
Walden Lodge usually
goes dark during the months of July and August and that matter must be
voted on at the June meeting if it is presented to the Lodge. If, as
tradition has it, the Lodge goes dark during those two months. I
would like to have some type of Lodge function during each of the months
of July and August. The function does not necessarily have to be at
the Lodge and might simply be attending a Greenville Braves baseball
game. If the Lodge votes to go dark at the June meeting, then I will
discuss this matter further at that time. Please keep in mind
that if the Lodge goes dark and if you do not attend the summer
functions then the next regular meeting of Walden Lodge will be held on
September 4, 2003.
My term as Worshipful Master continues to be
enjoyable and I thank all of you for your continued support, friendship,
and encouragement. If you have any matters pertaining to the Lodge,
which you wish to discuss with me, please don't hesitate to do so. I
welcome all suggestions, criticisms, and compliments. Thank you all
for allowing brotherly love to prevail.
Fraternally yours,
Lawrence W.
Crane Worshipful Master
