January 2006 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
Greetings Brothers, It is my honor to have been elected to serve the craft as your Worshipful Master for 2006. I am humbled by your faith, and hope I can perform as well as those who have held this chair before me. I am looking forward to a wonderful year, and am excited about our slate of officers that have joined me this year. I have no doubt that we will continue the high level expected of us. WB Charles Pridmore will be conducting the lodge’s annual memorial service, honoring those members of Walden Lodge who now watch over us from the celestial lodge above. Please mark your calendars with the following dates and times: 5 January – Regular communication 12 January – Fellow craft degree 19 January – 18th District Instructional meeting at the Scottish Rite center The district’s instructional meeting will take place on the 19th of January. This is a mandatory event for the officers, and we would like to have as many of the members present as possible. We have had the most members in attendance before, and I’d like to do so again. If you would like to car pool there, please let me know, and I’ll arrange that for you. I have several ideas for this year, and will be in touch with you to see if we can make this an exciting year for all. My thanks to Mel Sinclair PM for the wonderful job he has done on our web site. If you haven’t stopped by to see it yet, I encourage you to do so at your earliest opportunity. I look forward to seeing you all at our January communication and meeting with you, on the level. Sincerely, and fraternally,
Chris Grantham Worshipful Master “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety” – Benjamin Franklin
My Brothers, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all, for allowing me to serve as your Junior Warden. I know that I have big shoes to fill, and large appetites to satisfy. Walden has enjoyed a wonderful reputation and a long lasting tradition of providing great meals for any occasion or communication. I will do my best to do my predecessors justice throughout the year. My plan is to start the first January communication off with some of Jack Grady’s salmon stew. An “off the hip poll” seems to suggest, that this is a favorite among the majority of the brethren. I want to invite you all to email me with your request and suggestions. I won’t make any promises, other than, I am here to please, and they will all be considered. It will be an honor and a privilege to sit in the South for the upcoming year. I look forward to the challenges that the New Year will bring. It warms my heart to know that I am surrounded by such wonderful brethren. May the blessings of the Great Architect of the Universe find their way into the lives of each and every one of you. Sincerely, Bernie Wilber Junior Warden
