March 2006 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
Greetings Brothers, My brothers, I would like to bring you greetings and wish you a warm and hearty welcome. However, I can’t do so with many of you, as I’ve never had the chance to meet with you. I have signed the lodge’s annual report to the Grand lodge and there are many more members of Walden Lodge who I have never had the opportunity with whom to meet. Recently at our district instructional meeting, I was approached by a brother from another lodge. He took the time to inform me of the severe illness of one of Walden’s members. While I had heard the name mentioned in the lodge in passing, I have not had the chance to meet the brother. This to me is a shame. You, the members of the lodge, elected me as Worshipful Master. You have imposed a very special trust in me. One of my duties will be to escort the body of a brother to his final resting place when he has laid down the working tools of this life. I am asking that that not be the first time I have a chance to meet with you. Let not my first encounter with you be as I walk with your earthly remains on their last journey. I look forward to seeing you all at our March communication and meeting with you on the level. Sincerely, and fraternally, Chris Grantham Worshipful Master “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety” – Benjamin Franklin
My Brothers, I bring you Tidings from the South. It was great to see everybody at the February communication. I want to thank you for the privilege of allowing me to sit in the West. It was an honor. I am back in the South, and I am busy preparing your refreshment for the upcoming degree and the March meeting. At the request of one of our brothers, I will be trying a new place to procure our food. Cateran’s Buffet Restaurant will be providing us with our meal. They come highly recommended, and I welcome your feedback. Brothers, until we meet again, take care and God Bless. Sincerely yours, Bernie Wilber Junior Warden
