June 2006 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
Greetings Brothers, I hope that spring is treating you well, and this finds you and your family in good health. At the annual communication of Grand Lodge, Walden was honored to have our own WB Mark Cooper appointed as Grand Steward. This is a wonderful appointment for a man who has done great work for your lodge and serves the craft faithfully. May and June are going to be busy months for your lodge. We will be having a second degree and first degree in May. Your degree team is working hard to continue the tradition of excellence that you have set. At our June meeting (June 1st) we will be hosting a joint meeting with Recovery Lodge. Their officer’s will visit us to help in our celebration of the flag of our nation. June 14th is Flag Day, and the colors will be presented during the meeting, along with other activities to commemorate the greatest flag anywhere! At our business meeting in June we typically vote to recess for the months of July and August. I would like to know if this is your will and pleasure. Please make plans to attend and let your thoughts be heard. We will also have the final reading on the changes to our constitution and will vote on them. Please mark your calendar with the following dates:
I look forward to meeting with you, and serving the craft. Sincerely, and fraternally, Chris Grantham Worshipful Master “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety” – Benjamin Franklin
My Brothers, I bring you Tidings from the South. Well the month of May was certainly a busy one. In addition to our regular communication we had two different degrees on two different nights. It appears as if we are going to carry that momentum right into June. With our recognition and celebration of flag day, and two more degrees (possibly), it sounds like a good time. I would encourage everyone to attend these meetings and enjoy some wonderful fellowship with your brethren. I want to extend a personal congratulation to WB Mark Cooper, on his appointment to Grand Steward. He is certainly a brother who is deserving of the honor. We are all proud of you, glad for you, and wish you the best. Brothers, until we meet again, take care and God Bless. Sincerely yours Bernie Wilber Junior Warden
