January 2007 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
My Brothers: As we start a new year together, it would be my wish for all of you to be blessed with good health and prosperity. As for myself, I will ask for the wisdom to sit in the East this year and for good council from my Brothers when needed or asked for. I hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays, a time to thank God for the greatest gift He could give us; His Son. This is also a time for families, to be with loved ones and friends. A time to see the wonder of life in children weather they be our own offspring or our grandkids. To see the enthusiasm and lust for life and knowledge, we can only hope that we are looking at future Masons and that our Craft will prosper in the years to come. Sincerely and fraternally, Chick Davis Worshipful Master
Brothers, I would like to thank all of the members of the Walden for giving me the chance to serve our lodge once again. I look forward to working with a wonderful slate of young officers who I know are eager to serve our lodge. We have several degrees scheduled for the coming months, and I invite all of you to attend and show our new brothers what Masonry is all about. Thanks again to Worshipful Brother Chris Grantham for a great year as Master in 2006. Senior Warden
Greetings from the South, Since being introduced to Masonry, the one phrase I’ve heard over and again is, “the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it.” I have found this to be very true. The troubling aspect for me is that there seem to be a great number of Brothers that seem to be putting very little into Masonry, and therefore can’t be getting much out of it. As the New Year begins, many people will be making resolutions. So I encourage you to think about resolving to get more involved with Your Lodge. No matter how long you’ve been away, we’ll be happy to see you again. If it has been a very long while, we meet on the first Thursday of each month. If you have been attending regularly, I encourage you to volunteer to serve on committees and help out with degree work. I look forward to serving this year, and hope to see you in January. Tom Mowbray Jr. Warden
