October 2007 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
I would like to thank you one and all for a good showing at the September meeting. Sometimes it can be hard to get back into it after the summer break. We shall have a busy 3 months ahead of us. We will cast ballots for two candidates at our next business meeting. Should everything go well the committee reports and the voting, we will have 3 candidates for degree work, One of the candidates is a young Marine who will be shipping off to Iraq in January and has asked that he receive his MM before he goes. With this in mind, we will have the EA degree October 11th with Bro Ben Treen in-charge of the degree. We will hold the 2nd degree on November 8th with Bro Tom Mowbry in-charge of the degree. We will then have the 3rd degree on December 13th. The above schedule deviates from our standard 3rd Thursdays for degree work because I wanted to keep the Work away from the holidays and thereby have more participation from the Craft. I hope it works. Also, in October will have the Inspirational meeting on the 25th at the Scottish Rite Center Please make plans to attend this gathering of the Craft. I will put the offer out again, should any of our Brethren need a ride to Lodge to attend any of these meeting; please contact any of the officers and we will make arrangements to have you there. Let us all live in Masonic Light. Chick Davis Worshipful Master “There is no right way to do the wrong thing”. Admiral Dennis Brooks
Greetings from the South by way of the West. It is about the time of year in which we have to renew our membership to this great fraternity. I ask of you this year, not to just send in your money, but to also renew yourself with the Lodge. Come join us for a good meal, some good fellowship, and a good meeting. I found John Wesley’s rules for Christian living in a book, and thought that we could also apply them as rules for Masonic living. Do all the good you can By all the means you can In all the ways you can In all the places you can At all the time you can To all the people you can As long as ever you can. Tom Mobray, Jr. Warden
