November 2007 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
For those of you who missed it, we had a First Degree on Thursday the 11th of October. It was Bro. Ben Treens first experience sitting in the East, conducting the degree. We raised 3 candidates to EA, and they are looking forward to the next “step”. Their Second Degree will be on November 8th at Walden Lodge. Please plan to attend and wish our new Brothers success in their Masonic Journey. When you reading this, I hope you will have memories of our Inspirational Meeting (as opposed to not being there and having no memories of it) which was held on Thursday October 25th. We have had great speakers in the past, I’m certain this one will not be a disappointment. My time in the East draws close. It is time that we start thinking about who will lead Walden Lodge into its Centennial. Mark you calendar for the December 6th business meeting & elections and plan to attend. Your officers need to know that you will support them! Finally, as you are reading this; we are weeks away from Thanksgiving. A time for families to come together and renew their bonds, a time to stop and think about all of the wonderful blessings that He has given us. Do offer up a prayer for our Brothers and our troops. Chick Davis WM
The year is fast approaching to an end. Do not let that be a reason to not attend meetings and degrees. November has a couple of days we need to remember. Thanksgiving is the easy one. The multitude of shopping ads received in the mail or shown on television will not let you forget it. Another day, however, that is oftentimes overlooked is Veteran’s Day on the 11th. If you are a veteran I would like to say thanks. If you are not a veteran, find one and tell them thank you for their service. Remember to please drive safely when traveling this time of year, because many people have other things on their minds rather than operating the vehicle they are in. Tom Mowbray Jr. Warden
