October 2008 Plumbline, Walden Lodge No. 274
Greetings from the East, “Two are better than One, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up the other, but woe to one who is alone and falls and does not have another to help.” This passage from Ecclesiastes exemplifies what is good about Masonry. We never have to face any trial alone. As Brothers we should be reaching out to help one anther. When we work together it makes our tasks easier to get through. So if you are facing some toil, do not be afraid to look around for a helping hand to lift you up. We as a fraternity are here for you. And if you see someone reaching out for help, please do not be afraid to reach out and give your hand to help do some lifting. We as a fraternity need to be more readily available to help. In the upcoming weeks, if you see something that needs to be done, or someone struggling for help, please step up and take on the burden. Your help will be appreciated and you never know when you may be the one looking for an extra hand. House builders become house builders by building houses. Harp players become harp players by playing the harp. And we grow to be just by doing things that are just. -Aristotle.
