Greetings from the East
December is finally here, and my term as Master of Walden Lodge is rapidly coming to an end. I would like to begin by saying thank you for allowing me to serve this 100th year of Walden Lodge. I would also like to take a moment to thank all of the officers that have served this year. I also appreciate all of the members who have participated in degree work this year.
At the beginning of this year I had two goals in mind. One was to have fun, and two was to have a larger attendance. I think that for the most part we have enjoyed our meetings together. I am, however, not convinced that I accomplished the 2nd goal.
The success or failure of a lodge is usually associated with the Master. Masters come and go, and therefore the success and failure of a lodge is ultimately determined by its members.
In the November issue of the Plumbline I asked for the Past Masters to pass along a story we could include in future issues. At this time I have not received anything. So Brothers, please take a few minutes of your time and think about your lodge. Any support will be appreciated.
So for one last time as Master, I implore each of you to mark your calendars. You have a few more opportunities to come visit your lodge. We have our regular meeting on December 4th where election and installation of next year’s officers is scheduled. December 7th we will have our Christmas party. It is a drop in from 2:00-4:00. Families are encouraged to come, and Santa is scheduled to make an appearance, so make sure the kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews are invited. And December the 18th a 3rd degree is scheduled.
